Tonight’s episode of Let’s Kill Dave featured a lower body burn.
It consisted of 30 second sprints followed by ten seconds of “low grind” on the elliptical — basically walking slowly forward while in a squat position. There were four of this intervals followed by . . . get this . . . the same thing reversed.
Yep … squat-walking backwards and then sprinting backwards …
Right now, my quads officially hate me.
I have a lot of burning going on, so that is not a bad thing since it is my legs that are burning and not my back.
The Tapata exercise yesterday left my legs tight, but not burned out with lactic acid . . . I could walk comfortably today with just enough muscle tightness to say, “Hey there, Dave! You really did something yesterday, didn’t ya?”
This is so out of my comfort zone, but that is what I want . . . if you do what you have always done, you will get what you’ve always got.
I want to be able to soar on Couch to 5K in a few months.
I want to tighten my core and take the pressure of these two degenerative discs in my back (one middle and one lower).
I feel the Lord has called me to find balance in my life and my health/fitness is a vital part of that journey.
The second step of the journey is done.
My weight has gone from 224 to 222. The key is, I feel better and I feel accomplished. I am not where I want to be but, for the first time in two years, I am in total control of that outcome.
I will not waste this new opportunity.
